Bài hát “I will survive” của nhạc Disco cuối thập niên 70 đã vượt thời gian sống mãi trong lòng những người yêu âm nhạc.
Tác phẩm này do hai nhạc sỹ Mỹ Freddie Perren và Dino Fekaris sáng tác vào năm 1978 và được nữ ca sỹ da đen Mỹ Gloria Gaynor hát. Chỉ trong vòng hai năm đầu tiên đã bán được con số kỷ lục là 14 triệu bản. Đó là chưa kể bài hát đã được sao chép lại và dịch ra 20 ngôn ngữ khác nhau.
Năm 2016 Thư Viện Quốc Hội ở Washington tuyên bố bài hát này mang ý nghĩa văn hóa nghệ thuật và bản gốc được lựa chọn để lưu giữ trong hệ thống đăng ký quốc gia.
Lời và nhạc của bài hát này tuy rên siết đau khổ khi chia tay với người yêu nhưng vẫn cứng cỏi bản lĩnh đuổi cổ thằng bồ cù nhầy ra khỏi cửa. “I will survive” là biểu tượng nữ quyền và sự độc lập mạnh mẽ của người phụ nữ Hoa Kỳ.
Những người đàn bà đã từng yêu tha thiết nhưng bị người tình đối xử tệ bạc sẽ cảm thấy gần gũi với bài hát này. Còn những ai chưa yêu hay tưởng mình đã thành công trên con đường tình ái khi nghe bài hát này thì phải cẩn thận chớ quá lộng hành thô bạo bắt nạt người yêu.
Văn phong của bài hát đơn giản thẳng thắn kiểu Mỹ chớ không cầu kỳ trừu tượng như nhiều nhạc phẩm Việt, nghe xong thấy hay nhưng hổng hiểu muốn nói gì. Đoạn cô đọng được coi là hay của bài
